The art of chasing light consumes me whenever I am behind the lens. Every moment, calculations and possible outcomes define my next action. This was my first attempt at the art of bottle photography in a studio setting. Composited from two (2) frames -- one for the form and one for the labels. It was a two light setup. The first was 45 degrees up from centre. The second was a large softbox directly behind the bottle. The rim light was controlled by placing a black poster board that was a few inches in width behind the bottle. The distance of the bottle to background and poster board to bottle is what controlled the width of the rim light as light would wrap around it. The intention was minimalism without reflection. I touched up a few minor reflections and used a matte black platform for the bottle to rest. The overall scene was dark and rich with an end product unique to my style.
